Privacy policy

Summary in plain language

R E E Mechanical, Inc. ("REE Mechanical Inc.," "we," "us") is a commercial HVAC contractor based in Temecula, California, serving businesses in Southern California and Arizona. We collect the information you send us so we can respond to service requests, plus basic technical data needed to run this website. California residents have specific rights, described below, and you can use them by email or by calling our toll-free number.

Who this policy covers

This policy applies to personal information we collect through this website, by email, and by phone in connection with this website. How we use personal information

  • To respond to your request, schedule and dispatch service, and follow up on work.
  • To prepare proposals and maintain service and account records for your locations.
  • To send text messages about your request, only if you opted in (see below).
  • To evaluate job applicants who contact us.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the website, and to block spam and abuse.
  • To meet legal, tax, licensing, and insurance obligations and to defend legal claims.

Who we disclose it to

We disclose personal information only to service providers that process it on our behalf and under contract, and as required by law. In the past 12 months, those categories were:

  • Website platform and form relay (our web developer, CI Web Group), which hosts this site and delivers form submissions to us.
  • Google, for reCAPTCHA spam protection on the form, web fonts, and the map embedded on the contact page.
  • Email, phone, and text-messaging providers that carry our communications.
  • Professional advisers such as accountants, insurers, and attorneys, and government authorities when the law requires it.

If R E E Mechanical, Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

Your privacy choices: Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not done so in the past 12 months, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. Because nothing is sold or shared, there is nothing to opt out of today. If that ever changes, we will update this policy first and offer an opt-out here before any sale or sharing begins. You can still send us an opt-out request at any time, and we will record it, using the methods in "How to make a request" below.

Global Privacy Control. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal from your browser as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for that browser, without you needing to do anything else.

On-site choice. You can also turn optional cookies off for this browser at any time: . Your California rights, and how to make a request by email or phone, are described under "California privacy rights" and "How to make a request" below.

Do Not Track. Browsers' "Do Not Track" setting has no agreed standard, so the site does not change its behavior in response to it. We honor GPC instead, as described above.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, including a business contact or job applicant, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act:

  • Right to know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and who we disclosed it to.
  • Right to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to correct inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information. We do not collect or use sensitive personal information for any purpose that would trigger this right.
  • Right to non-discrimination. We will not deny you service, charge a different rate, or give a different level of service because you used any of these rights.

How to make a request

Send a request by either method:

Verification. To protect you, we confirm your identity before releasing or deleting information. We will ask you to confirm details we already hold, such as your name, company, and the email address or phone number you used with us. We use information you give for verification only for that purpose. Opt-out requests do not require verification.

Authorized agents. You may use an authorized agent. We will ask the agent for your signed permission and may ask you to verify your identity directly with us, unless the agent holds a valid power of attorney.

Response time. We confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days. If we need more time, up to 45 more days, we will tell you why. Requests to know cover the 12 months before your request unless you ask for a longer period and it is reasonably possible. Requests are free unless they are excessive or repetitive.

Arizona and other states

Arizona does not currently have a comprehensive consumer privacy law, but we apply the same practices to Arizona contacts: we do not sell or share your information, and you can ask us to access, correct, or delete it using the methods above. If you live in another state with its own privacy law, contact us the same way and we will honor the rights that law gives you.

Text messages (SMS)

We text you only if you check the optional text-message box on our contact form or otherwise give us express consent. Consent to texts is never a condition of requesting or receiving service.

  • Messages are about your service request, such as scheduling, technician updates, and follow-up. Message frequency varies by request.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile plan.
  • Reply STOP to stop receiving texts. Reply HELP for help, or call 1-800-742-0910.
  • Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
  • We never sell, rent, or share your mobile number or your text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Texting providers that send messages for us receive your number only to deliver our messages.

The full text-message program terms are in our Terms of Use.

Cookies, analytics, and third-party content

This site uses a small number of cookies and similar technologies. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies, and you can change that choice later. Necessary cookies cannot be turned off because the site needs them to work.

  • Necessary: remembering your cookie choice, and Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form, which checks browser and interaction signals to block spam. reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
  • Analytics (optional): this site does not run analytics tags today. If we add Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate, we will update this policy first. They will follow your cookie choice and your GPC signal: if you reject optional cookies, or your browser sends GPC, they will not set analytics or advertising cookies on your device. You can also install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
  • Advertising: this site does not use advertising pixels, such as Meta or Google Ads remarketing tags. If we add them, we will update this policy first and they will follow your cookie and GPC choices.
  • Google Maps and fonts: the map on our contact page and the site's web fonts are served by Google, which receives your IP address and browser details when they load. The map is subject to Google's privacy policy. Our full address and a directions link are given next to it in plain text if you prefer not to load it.
  • Video: on pages with an embedded video, the preview image (thumbnail) loads from YouTube's image servers (img.youtube.com or i.ytimg.com) when the page loads, so YouTube receives your IP address and browser details for that image. The video player itself loads only when you press play, in YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), and is then subject to Google's privacy policy.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though the contact form's spam protection may ask for an extra check.

How long we keep information

  • Customer and service records: for as long as we serve the account, then up to 7 years for tax, licensing, warranty, and legal purposes.
  • Form submissions that do not become work: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Job applications: up to 4 years, as California employment rules require.
  • Text-message opt-in and opt-out records: for as long as you are opted in, plus 5 years, so we can prove consent and honor opt-outs.
  • Website technical data: up to 26 months.

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards. The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are encrypted in transit, and the form is protected against spam. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security. Please do not send passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information through the website form.

Payment security

This website does not accept online payments and never asks for payment card numbers or bank account details. Please do not send card or bank details through the website form or by email. Payment for service work is arranged under your signed service agreement.

This site links to other websites, such as social media pages and equipment manufacturers. We do not control their privacy practices. Review their policies before giving them information.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy at least once a year. When we change it, we post the new version here and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will give notice on this site before the change takes effect.
