Carrier commercial HVAC replacement and service in Southern California and Arizona

REE Mechanical replaces and services commercial Carrier equipment, including packaged rooftop units, split systems and dedicated outdoor air units, for multi-site facilities in six Southern California counties and across Arizona.

Carrier rooftop, split and outdoor air equipment REE replaces and services

Carrier's commercial line on retail roofs centers on packaged rooftop units, with split systems and air-cooled condensers on sites that keep the air handler indoors and dedicated outdoor air units where ventilation is handled separately.

Carrier's packaged outdoor page lists WeatherMaker packaged rooftop units with EcoBlue Technology, available in multiple configurations, and dedicated outdoor air units for ventilation and dehumidification. Its split systems and condensers page describes split systems that pair outdoor units with indoor air handlers, and air-cooled condensers for rooftop and ground-level installations. The Carrier commercial page also lists chillers, airside equipment and building controls.

REE replaces and services Carrier rooftop units, split systems, condensers and dedicated outdoor air units. REE does not work on chillers of any make, Carrier included. For the difference between the two main equipment types, see packaged vs split systems in commercial buildings.

Dedicated outdoor air and ventilation on Carrier sites

Where a Carrier dedicated outdoor air unit brings in and conditions fresh air, the rooftop units only handle the space load. Replacing one without accounting for the other changes how the building is ventilated.

Carrier describes its dedicated outdoor air units as providing ventilation and dehumidification, with adaptable airflow options. On a site set up that way, the outside air settings on the rooftop units, the economizers and the exhaust fans were balanced around the outdoor air unit. When either piece is replaced, REE re-checks that balance instead of copying old settings onto new equipment.

The same thinking applies to make-up air and kitchen or process exhaust; see our make-up air and exhaust installation and replacement page and the guide to economizers on retail rooftop units.

Replacing a Carrier rooftop unit across a store portfolio

A Carrier rooftop replacement starts with the configuration on the roof today: heating type, airflow, curb and controls. The survey matches those, or plans the change, before a crane is booked.

Carrier sells its WeatherMaker rooftop units in multiple configurations, so the first job is reading what the existing unit does: gas heat or electric, how its supply and return are ducted, and what the curb looks like. Any mismatch, such as a different footprint or a change from gas to electric heat, brings roofing, electrical or gas work that is easier to plan than to find on crane day. Kelly Purcell, our Installation Director, runs permitting city by city across the six counties, and our own installation crew sets the unit.

Where a site runs a building management system, our building management system team reviews how the new unit will be connected before it is ordered. The full sequence is on our rooftop unit installation and replacement page, and repair or replace a rooftop unit covers when replacement is the right call.

Maintenance and Standard 180 inspections on Carrier equipment

REE maintains Carrier equipment under the same Standard 180 program as the rest of a portfolio. On split systems a visit covers both halves: the condensing section outside and the air handler inside.

Carrier's split systems page describes split systems as an outdoor unit paired with an indoor air handler. That indoor half sits in a mechanical room or ceiling space and needs its own filter, coil and drain work, so visits are scheduled around store hours. Rooftop units and outdoor air units get coil, belt, filter, economizer and controls checks on the same visit. Programs run through our HVAC maintenance and inspections pillar, documented to the ASHRAE 180 inspection and testing standard, with 24/7 emergency service when a unit fails between visits.

Where REE works on Carrier equipment in California and Arizona

REE services and replaces Carrier equipment across six Southern California counties and all 15 Arizona counties, with technicians based across Southern California and Arizona.

Most Carrier work comes from multi-site retail portfolios that want one contractor for every store on the list. See how a commercial rooftop unit works for a plain-language primer to share with store managers.

Carrier is a trademark of its owner. REE Mechanical names the brand only to describe equipment we work on. This page is not a dealer, partner or certification claim.

Questions

Carrier equipment: common questions

Does REE service Carrier dedicated outdoor air units?

Yes. REE services and replaces Carrier dedicated outdoor air units along with the rooftop units they work with, and re-checks outside air and exhaust balance whenever either one is replaced.

Can REE replace only the outdoor section of a Carrier split system?

Sometimes. It depends on whether the existing indoor air handler, coil and refrigerant still match what the new outdoor unit needs. The survey checks both halves; if they do not match, REE recommends replacing both so the system works as one.

Does REE work on Carrier chillers?

No. REE does not work on chillers of any make. REE handles Carrier rooftop units, split systems, condensers and dedicated outdoor air units, and will tell you which items on a site's equipment list fall inside that scope.
