Tired of fighting over the thermostat? Upgrading your heating and AC system with zoning can save energy, money and aggravation!
How Does Zoning Work?
The REE Mechanical HVAC technicians will meet with you to determine which areas of the building will be divided into zones. Sometimes it’s based on rooms, upstairs and downstairs, or areas that may be used only part of the time. Each room or zone will be equipped with an electronically controlled thermostat. Each thermostat will be connected to a mechanical baffle that will open and close based on the temperature selected on the thermostat.
Zoning: Simple or High Tech
Each zoning design is different based on the type of conditioning system . As York dealers, we can integrate zoning into your existing York system or add it to a new installation. We rely on the technology from the zoning experts at Jackson Systems who offer manufacturer-compatible dampers to interface with your existing heating and air conditioning systems. We also have extensive training and experience with Honeywell thermostats that are designed for many residential systems. No matter what HVAC system your home has, we can design a zoning system that’s compatible!

What’s Involved in Switching to Zones?
As a retrofit to an existing HVAC system, our expert duct technicians will evaluate your existing ductwork. We’ll ensure the structure and layout meets current code and is connected and sized to meet your equipment requirements. At that time we’ll also take a look at accessibility for connecting wiring from the powered baffles to the thermostat controls. We’ll also check that your ductwork is properly connected and that your intake and exhausts are providing the right amount of fresh air to the system.
