Tired of fighting over the thermostat? Upgrading your heating and AC system with zoning can save energy, money and aggravation!
How Does Zoning Work?
The REE Mechanical HVAC technicians will meet with you to determine which areas of your home will be divided into zones. Sometimes it’s based on rooms, upstairs and downstairs, or areas that may be used only part of the time. Each room or zone will be equipped with an electronically controlled thermostat. Each thermostat will be connected to a mechanical baffle that will open and close based on the temperature selected on the thermostat.
What are the Benefits of Zoning My Home?
Homes that presently rely on a single point thermostat control may see the biggest difference in comfort and savings. We understand that each family uses rooms in their home differently. The master bedroom temperature should probably be set at a different level than a guest bedroom that is used infrequently. Living areas could be programmed to be warmer or cooler during work or sleep hours. Rooms with lots of windows may need cooler temperatures to compensate for the sun’s radiant heat. By allowing each area of the home to be maintained at a different temperature, your family’s comfort will be improved and your home’s energy efficiency enhanced.
What’s Involved in Switching to Zones?
As a retrofit to an existing HVAC system, our expert duct technicians will evaluate your De Luz, CA area home’s existing ductwork. We’ll ensure the structure and layout meets current code and is connected and sized to meet your equipment requirements. At that time we’ll also take a look at accessibility for connecting wiring from the powered baffles to the thermostat controls. We’ll also check that your ductwork is properly connected and that your intake and exhausts are providing the right amount of fresh air to the system.
