We don’t need heat too often in Southern California, but when the temperatures get cold, we rely on our heating system to keep us comfortable. The challenge is, that because heating systems are used infrequently, they don’t always receive the attention the need. If your heating system is reaching the end of its life, you can count on the pros at REE Mechanical to find the right replacement and install it properly.
Your New Heating System — Separate or Combined?
Many of our customers have heating systems that operate separately from their air conditioning, including furnaces and boilers. Our technicians are factory-trained by York, the manufacturer that offers both improved energy efficiency and reliable heating systems.
When one of these conventional heating systems fail, another option to consider is a system that combines heating and cooling such as a heat pump or VRF system. We like the superb technology and reliability of Mitsubishi Electric ductless and VRF systems. Here is an explanation of heating options available:
Furnace
Natural gas-fired furnaces heat air and blow it through ductwork to heat rooms.
Boiler
A natural gas-fired boiler heats water and pumps it through baseboards or radiant floor tubes.
Heat Pump
Can create either heated water or heated air to condition your home’s interior. Air-source heat pumps can provide both heating and cooling, depending on the design.
Ductless or Mini-Split Heat Pump
This very efficient unit provides both heating and cooling with no ductwork. The heat pump portion is installed outside, and is connected to an interior air handler.
VRF Systems
Once only available in commercial applications, variable refrigerant flow (VRF) systems offer durability, lower maintenance and high-efficiency operation.
Improved Energy Efficiency May Qualify for Rebates
We understand that few households budget for heating system replacements — unfortunately system failure is often a surprise. For most homeowners, there are several financing & rebate options. We work with Synchrony Financing for financing your new heating replacement and installation at competitive rates and terms. If your utility is Southern California Edison, it offers valuable rebates for upgrading to new, high-efficiency AC. You may also choose to use PACE financing.
